Week 3

School, school, school … and finally weekend! ... 10/15/12 – 10/21/12

This week has been so busy when it comes to school. After Vancouver I was a little bit behind with all of our schoolwork – but I made it all in time!
It has been so busy because this Tuesday we had our first three hours lab – yes three whole hours in the lab in chemistry! Besides that I also had 4 assignments, a presentation and a lot of homework.
Unfortunately the next weeks will be like that too…
But because we all want to experience some things, we still have time for that (sometimes) – the only negative thing about it, is that the schoolwork will be done just in time, but that’s just how it is!
Because of the schoolwork I didn’t have time, for much else to do before Thursday evening – done with all with assignments and homework. So Simone, Line, Cecilia, Sara and some of the boys had dinner at Macaroni. It is an Italian restaurant, so no fast food – delightful!

FRIDAY = HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL

At Friday we could finally enjoy the weekend, after a busy school week!
So a first the whole class were invited to dinner at Victor Friday, where his host mom also had invited us all to a real high school football game- which we all were excited about.
After the dinner we took the bus to Edmonds Woodway High School. When we came to the stadium, where the game was, we were all more excited! We had been talking about, if it would be like in movies with a big orchestra and cheerleaders.
I can tell that we weren’t disappointed! There were such a fantastic atmosphere and it was “only” a high school game. There was a big orchestra, cheerleaders and people were really in a good mood. They backed up their team as good as possible!
So overall the experience with a high school football game, was like a movie!

Here you can see a little part

of the grand stand.

Ready to start the game!

We were cheered on the blue team

A touchdown to the team we cheered for – but unfortunately they lost the game

Saturday I was at Elise the whole day and we just had a really relaxing day a home with movies, chips and soda.
At evening we had dinner with the whole class to celebrate Alexander’s 18 birthday. Elise and I were in good time to take the bus, so we got this idea, that we had to buy a present to Alexander – and since Halloween is so big over here, when why not buy him a pumpkin, a big one! So we bought this big pumpkin to him. The only problem was just to carry it and of course we got off the bus the soon, so we had to carry it even longer. Then we got to the Alderwood center, Elise carried the pumpkin and I have never seen so many eyes on her before. But we made it and had a lot of fun about it!
After the dinner Elise, Niron, Jesper and I went home to Nicklas, where we just watched a movie, played pool and cards with his host brothers – a good and relaxing day!

On our way to the birthday with our pumpkin – we had to walk a bit longer…

While Elise was walking with the pumpkin in Macy’s, which we laughed a lot about!

Celebrating Alexander’s birthday at Red Robin with the whole class

Sunday was just one more relaxing day with movie, more chips and soda together with Elise.

Vancouver with the ladies

Vaaaaaancouver – 10/13/12-10/15/12

I have spend the weekend with 4 amazing girls – Simone, Elise, Line and Cecilia in Canada, Vancouver,
It was a really good trip – we had A LOT of fun, food, relaxing, shopping, it was a real trip for girls!

Saturday about 09:20, we took the bus from Lynnwood transit station to Seattle, where our bus to Vancouver went from – all of us very excited!

 Ready to go!

So after more than 4 hours in bus we made it to Vancouver.
Finally!

We made it to the hotel after about one hour – of course we walked a longer way than necessary.
But the hotel was very good and we had a room for all five of us together, so that was really good.
Four of the boys were also living on the same hotel, just only for one night.

After we had unpacked our stuff and had been relaxing a bit; we went downtown to the most “important” and biggest street, Robson Street, which was the street with the best shops and restaurants, so of course we had to went their as the first!

Vancouver downtown! Our hotel was not more than about 15-20 minutes away, so we didn’t had to walk that long.

Line, Simone and I ended all up buying some things – of course! After 3 hours walking we went back to the hotel, so we could go out to have some dinner with the boys.

We ended up at Red Robin again - this time it was just in Canada. B-U-R-G-E-R again of course!

It was a really good day and we had a good time together with boys. So we ended up in our beds very tired and just wanted to have some sleep, so we could be ready for the next day!

The next morning we found this really nice café to have our big breakfast (really good) and to find out what the plan was for the day – we ended actually up with none, so we just walked around in Vancouver as real tourists.

After the breakfast our stomachs were full and we were ready to see more of Vancouver.
We ended up walking to some different places – we walked in neighborhoods in a really bad condition with many homeless people, so we went back to the central part of Vancouver where Line suddenly got a Fantastic idea – spa manicure and pedicure and since the weather not was the best, we did that.

The place was called “Bella Bella”
It was really nice and a good experience and we only ended up giving about 60$, which is very cheap! So when we had left the salon, we felt that our hands and feets were very clean and looked good!
After that we walked around a bit. Simone and I decided though, that we wanted to go back to the hotel to relax. We had seen this cute little cupcake shop, so we had to buy two, which we could take with us back to the hotel.

The two cupcakes we bought – they were so DELICIOUS and I think it’s some of the best cupcakes I have ever tasted!

In the evening we decided to buy some food and take it with us to the hotel. After that we just stayed at the hotel and had a truly girl night with facemask, a lot of talking and laughing.

The next morning, was sadly the day that we had to leave. But before we left Vancouver, we had our breakfast at one of the highest hotels with an amazing view over the whole city!

The fantastic view!

After one more tasty breakfast we were ready to travel back to USA!
The weekend was really good and we had so much fun, even though the weather could have been better, so we could have seen a bit more – but I still had three fantastic days, with four fantastic girls!

While we were in Vancouver all of us were surprised by, that there were so many homeless people on the streets. Even though if you walked to centre, there were still a lot. The city actually got us thinking a bit of Copenhagen, specially when we walked a bit away from the centre and out to the smaller places. I would say, that I like Seattle more, but we had a great weekend and that is all that matters!

Simone, Line and Elise were three of the girls I went together with – Cecilia the last girl took the picture.

Hope you guys back home are enjoying your little vacation – then I will try to enjoy being in school!
