10/22/12 – 11/01/12
HALLLLLLLLLOWEEN!
I would
love to start this post with a “beautiful” picture of my lovely class at the
Halloween party Friday at the school!
“The famous
class” on Edmonds Community College!
It has just
been two busy weeks! So I won’t talk about the school, because there has been so
much schoolwork, that it would be to boring to read about it all! So short
said: two VERY busy weeks!
BUT of
course we have had time for something else!
Monday and
Tuesday – nothing else than school…
Wednesday I
went together with Simone, Line and Elise to this little cute café Aloha, not
far from the school, where we love sit to do our schoolwork and to have a good
girly conversation. After the café we all went ice skating with some of the
others from the class – it was really fun and of course I fell!
Thursday
after school we went to this huge store with costumes to the Halloween party on
the school Friday. It is really incredibly, how much they make out of Halloween! A
lot of the houses are also decorated and people walk around in costumes and
where we bought our costumes a lady told us, that Halloween is only getting
bigger for every year – I think it is really big now! So after the Halloween
shopping, we went to the cinema. It was the biggest cinema that I have ever
been into! The biggest hall in Herning is about 2 or 3 times smaller than this
– WOW were my first reaction with big eyes and open mouth!
Friday it
was time to the Halloween party at the school and we where excited to see, if
everybody would be dressed up in a costume. After school Simone, Line, Mia,
Stine, Elise and I went out for dinner at Blazing Onions, where we got the some
of the best burgers, I have ever
tasted! We went home to Simone after the dinner so we could get dressed up for
the party. A lot of the people had done something out of them selves and the
school also held a contest about the best costume. There were 5 prices and our
class won 3 of them, so quickly we got almost “famous”. A lot of the students
on the school are from Asia, so they are crazy about us! The party got us
thinking of our gymnasium parties in Herning and a lot of us miss them – and
the alcohol (sorry Kelli) but still we had a really good and fun party!
Ready and dressed up for the Halloween party
The fantastic burger on Blazing Onion
Saturday we got up early to our second trip together. It was a trip to Snoqualmie Falls and Rattlesnake to hike. Unfortunately the weather is not the best more, so we had a day where it was raining all the time. We could still see the beautiful fall even though it was hard for the rain and the fog – a shame! After that we went to Rattlesnake to hike – it was so hard! I made it though to the top and I’m actually a bit proud to say that I have been walking 1.9miles up of a mountain to the top! Again the weather was annoying and we couldn’t see that far, but still a very beautiful view!
Snoqualmie Falls - very beautiful!
Sunday was a relaxing day!
What a
lovely surprise!:
Monday =
schoolwork and a new busy week! BUT I got the best surprise from my lovely
family in Denmark – they have sent a packet with Danish candy! I was so happy,
when had opened it, especially the liquorices made me happy! So thank you again
to my fantastic parents and siblings!
Tuesday we
had to hand over three assignments and I had 3 hours in the lab plus a
presentation… So Simone and I decided to eat out and have a good dinner after school! We
went to the Italian restaurant again. We had three courses and it just tasted
so good – our stomachs were completely full after that fantastic dinner! The
best part of it, was that it only cost us about 20$ (about 120 kr.) so cheap!
I have
actually also planned a new trip together with Line and Simone – all I can say:
it is going to be luxury and expensive!
Wednesday
was relaxing and I got home directly after school, just to do laundry, clean my
room a bit and relax.
Thursday we
only had a study lab in the school and then we went on our third trip to Boing,
the Future of flight. We couldn’t take pictures in the building, but it is
actually the largest building in the world by volume. We were on a tour, to see
how the flights are build and how long time it takes – it was a good tour, not
the best we have seen over here, but exciting to see the different flights.
Boing from the outside - the largest building is on picture number 1 to the left
So tomorrow
I will go on a trip together with Line and Simone that will be expensive and
luxury and I can’t wait! – you will hear about it next week!
Some funny
things people have said about us Danes
When I went
to Blazing Onions with the girls, our waiter asked us which language we spooked
(as always, when we are speaking Danish to each other). All of us have been
wondering how Danish sounds like to people who don’t speak it. Some is saying
that we sing then we are speaking, other is saying that it sounds like French
or maybe German (which we don’t think at all). So we asked the waiter and said none
of this, but that he had never heard something like it – we had our own and
unique language! Cool!
The other
thing is that we in Denmark can drink, when we are 16 (over here you must be
21), so when we talk with other about it, their mouth and eyes gets so big! But
we met this guy in the bus and he said, “One of the only things I know about
you guys is, when you finish high school (gymnasium) you’re having the longest
and biggest party – our student party that is about a whole week”. We thought
it was really funny!
There are squirrels everywhere and specially Simone is crazy about them :)
I love the class pic of Halloween!!
SvarSletAnd my husband is just as crazy about squirrels!!!! It is hilarious!
